- Exercise carries risk — including but not limited to muscle soreness, joint injury, falls, cardiac events, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions.
- You should consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting, especially if you are pregnant, post-partum, recovering from surgery, or managing a chronic condition.
- You assume all risks and release The Power Pause Project, LLC, its founder Lauren Rouwet, and its team from liability for ordinary negligence to the maximum extent allowed by law.
- By signing up or pressing play on a workout you electronically execute this Waiver.
1. Acknowledgment of risk
You acknowledge that participation in any physical activity — including strength training, cardiovascular exercise, mobility work, stretching, yoga, breathwork, and recovery practices — and any nutritional or supplemental advice provided through the service involves inherent risks. These risks include, without limitation:
- Musculoskeletal injury (strains, sprains, tendon or ligament tears, fractures, joint dislocations);
- Falls and impact injuries, particularly during balance or jumping movements;
- Cardiovascular events, including changes in heart rate or blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke, especially in individuals with undiagnosed conditions;
- Aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, asthma, hormonal imbalances, and metabolic disorders;
- Dehydration, heat exhaustion, hypoglycemia, and other physiological responses to exertion;
- Allergic or adverse reactions to foods, supplements, or dietary changes; and
- In the most extreme cases, permanent disability or death.
You acknowledge that the program is delivered remotely, without in-person supervision, and you are solely responsible for using appropriate form, equipment, environment, and judgment.
2. Medical clearance
You represent and warrant that, before participating in any workout or following any nutritional guidance provided through the service:
- You have consulted (or will consult) a qualified physician or licensed healthcare provider regarding your fitness to participate, particularly if you have any history of heart, respiratory, musculoskeletal, hormonal, or metabolic conditions, or any other condition that may be aggravated by exercise;
- You are not aware of any medical reason that you should not participate; and
- You will stop immediately and seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, lightheadedness, nausea, joint or muscle pain beyond ordinary exertion, or any other symptom that concerns you.
The program is general fitness instruction. It is not personal medical advice and is not a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed healthcare professional. Power Pause is taught by Lauren Rouwet, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Women's Fitness Specialist — not a physician, physical therapist, or licensed dietitian. Information about perimenopause, menopause, and hormonal change is provided for educational purposes only and should not be used to make treatment decisions.
3. Pregnancy & special conditions
If you are pregnant, post-partum, breastfeeding, undergoing fertility treatment, or recovering from any surgery, illness, or injury, do not participate without first obtaining clearance from a qualified healthcare provider familiar with your circumstances. Certain exercises and nutritional protocols included in the program may not be appropriate for you and could pose risks to you, your pregnancy, or your child.
If you have a diagnosed eating disorder or are in recovery, the nutrition content may not be appropriate; consult your treatment team before starting.
4. Release of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you, on behalf of yourself and your heirs, assigns, executors, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue The Power Pause Project, LLC, its officers, directors, members, founder Lauren Rouwet, instructors, employees, agents, contractors, affiliates, and licensors (the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) of any kind, arising out of or related to your use of the service or participation in any activity provided by the service, including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of any of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
This release does not extend to liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be waived under applicable law.
5. Express assumption of risk
You expressly, voluntarily, and knowingly assume all risks associated with your participation in the service, including risks that are known to you and risks that you could not reasonably have anticipated. You acknowledge that the Released Parties have not made any representation or warranty as to the safety, fitness for any particular purpose, or expected results of the program.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claim brought by a third party arising out of (i) your participation in any activity provided by the service, (ii) your breach of this Waiver, or (iii) your violation of any applicable law.
7. Electronic acceptance
By creating an account on powerpause.health, starting a workout, downloading a meal plan, or otherwise using the service, you electronically execute this Waiver under the federal E-Sign Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and agree that your electronic acceptance has the same legal force as a handwritten signature. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You acknowledge that you have read this Waiver in full, that you understand it, that you have had the opportunity to seek legal advice, and that you are signing it freely and voluntarily.
8. Governing law & severability
This Waiver is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
